Let’s Enjoy the Mornings of Kaş

Even if you’re not a morning person, I’d still say—wake up early. And you can be sure you won’t need an alarm clock or a strong coffee to start your day. Do you know why? It’s simple: you’re in Kaş. The air you breathe, the birds you hear, the deep blue sky you see when you open your eyes, the inviting sound of the crystal-clear sea, and the quiet of nature… all of these will become your motivation. All you need to do is get out of bed, wash your face, brush your teeth, and drink a glass of water. Now you’re ready to step outside.

An Early Bird in Kaş

It’s worth being prepared for Kaş mornings. That’s why, before leaving the house, don’t forget to pack your bag with a book, a pen, a small notebook or journal, and a beach towel. Wearing your swimsuit or bikini underneath will make things much easier. You’re in Kaş—the jewel of the Mediterranean—and you’re on holiday. Without a doubt, you’ll find yourself swimming somewhere, and I strongly recommend it from my own experience. You might want to bring your headphones to listen to music, but here’s a friendly suggestion: listen to the sound of nature instead—one of the softest and most calming melodies there is. You’ll see just how beautiful this simple yet priceless Kaş experience can be.

A Typical Day in Kaş

Your first morning experience might begin with a lovely walk along the marina. The calmness of the sea, the reflections of boats resting in sleepy silence, and the ducks wandering around will completely captivate you. You can also swim at the marina’s beautiful beach, or continue walking beyond the marina to discover a natural cove. The sea at this hour—its color, temperature, and clarity—is truly mesmerizing. And the feeling and experience of a morning swim? Absolutely priceless.

Another Morning Experience in Kaş

Kaş, a small fishing town, is adorned with stunning views, charming streets, bougainvillea bursting with color, mostly Blue Flag beaches, and seaside platforms. Another beautiful morning experience here is a walk to İnceboğaz Beach. For this, you should head from the center towards the Çukurbağ Peninsula. İnceboğaz Beach faces the marina on the right and the Greek island of Meis on the left. If you’re walking from the peninsula back toward the center, you can imagine it the other way around.

İnceboğaz is known for having some of the warmest seawater in the area. If you continue walking a bit further towards the Çukurbağ Peninsula, you’ll see the entrance to the public beach on your left. Here, you can swim or simply lie down on the grass, close your eyes, and listen to the sounds of nature awakening. If the small food and drink kiosk has already started preparing for the day and brewed fresh tea early, you might even enjoy a glass yourself.

A Night Owl in Kaş

Let’s say you’re a night owl—no need to worry, because the spirit of Kaş will likely turn this habit upside down, at least for a few days during your stay. Starting the day early in Kaş isn’t just about enjoying peaceful morning walks and refreshing swims; it also gives you the chance to experience longer days and make the most of your holiday without missing a thing.

The charming harbor of Kaş, a small fishing town

Although our marina, opened in 2011, is relatively new, our harbor in the town center dates back much further. Walking along the breakwater at any time of day is always enjoyable, but an early morning walk there has a charm of its own.

When you sit on the rocks beneath the lighthouse at the very end of the breakwater, you’ll see an ancient Lycian sarcophagus on your left, while the stunning views of Limanağzı beaches unfold before you. If you’re lucky enough, you might even watch fishing boats returning from their early trips. It’s also one of the best spots to lean back and read your book.

Küçük Çakıl Area

The main street of the Küçük Çakıl area is lined with hotels and guesthouses, as well as the seaside platforms and beaches belonging to these accommodations. If you prefer not to take the uphill road from the square to reach this street, you can follow a gentler path along the coastline, enjoying views of the breakwater and Limanağzı along the way. There’s a bench on this route where you can take a break. While sitting there, you might even jot down a few notes in your notebook or journal—memories that will bring back beautiful feelings when you read them later.

If you decide to swim in the small cove that gives the area its name, be ready to let out a gasp—it’s one of the coldest spots in Kaş. The icy appearance you see on the turquoise water, along with its occasional chill, comes from fresh spring water mixing with the sea. If you gather your courage and dive in, you can float on your back and take in the full beauty of Kaş. Without a doubt, you’ll fall in love with it.

Panoramic View of Kaş from the Helipad

After swimming at Küçük Çakıl Beach, don’t rush back right away. Walk past the hotels until you reach the fork at the end of the road, then follow the path on the right. Within about 3 minutes, you’ll arrive at the helipad.

This is one of the most popular spots for watching sunsets, but at the same time, in the quiet of the morning, it becomes one of the most beautiful places to be alone with nature. And right there, you’ll find yourself in the middle of a truly unforgettable morning experience—one that will stay with you long after the day ends.

Büyük Çakıl Area

If you like, you can extend your walk from the helipad a little further and continue on to Büyük Çakıl Beach—it’s a distance that’s well worth the effort. There, you can experience a peaceful sense of solitude, surrounded by nature. Of course, you can also save the Büyük Çakıl walk for another day. The scent and coolness of the water here will make it easy to start your day—it’s a refreshing and enjoyable morning activity. After swimming in the clear blue waters under cloudless skies, resting on the rocks will undoubtedly feel incredible.

And if you’re a breakfast lover like we are, after any of these morning experiences, you’ll be more than ready for a big breakfast. Enjoying it on a Luna Hotel balcony with a beautiful view will make everything taste even better.
