The Story of Luna Hotel: A Legacy Born from a Love for Kaş
The building where Luna Hotel stands today is the result of a passionate love affair with Kaş. Gordon and Marion, a couple from England, first visited Kaş in the 1980s and instantly fell in love with this small Mediterranean town. With its picturesque streets, warm seas, and friendly local community, Kaş left an unforgettable mark on their hearts. Over time, their visits became more frequent; as happens to many, this beautiful place never left their minds. Eventually, they decided to make Kaş — more precisely, the land where Luna Hotel now stands — their home.
Situated perfectly between the lively town center of Kaş and a peaceful hillside, they found the ideal plot and began building the home of their dreams. Every detail was designed with great care — from stone walls that keep the building cool in summer and warm in winter, to wooden elements collected from a local primary school and lovingly repurposed. The result was an elegant and welcoming building, created by Kaş lovers, for Kaş lovers.
In 2019, this special property was taken over by a local team, Ahmet and Can. The building was carefully renovated, and Luna Hotel was born, staying true to the spirit of Gordon and Marion. Ahmet, who has lived in Kaş his entire life, grew up within the tourism sector and learned the fine details of hospitality by working in his family’s guesthouse during his childhood. Today, together with his wife Marie and their three children, he has transformed Luna Hotel into a true family-run property.
Can is also from Kaş and was raised within the tourism industry. After meeting his wife Gülşah in İzmit, she too fell in love with this unique coastal town, and they built a new life here together. With their two children, they work hand in hand with Ahmet and his family to make Luna Hotel a warm, friendly, and comfortable family business.
